Messages to the Womb Dweller

“Messages to the Womb Dweller” was an interactive installation created alongside the “Inner Dialogue” installation by friend and fellow artist, Human Shaped Animal, at Trellus, in Santa Cruz California, December 2023

In this interactive installation, created in honor of the Womb Dweller residing within my belly at the time, I welcomed guests to send messages from the outside: drawings, poems, questions about their world, descriptions of the world beyond, words of encouragement, learned wisdom, & any other offerings that could fit within the surfaces of the mounted scrolls.

Elements of the scrolls were then cut and transformed into new glowing “moon blossom” lanterns and presented as gifts to the Womb Dweller upon joining us earthside!
